MARY SUE WEINSTEIN
“I create to give meaning to the world around me. Everything that I experience inspires me and comes together simultaneously in my artwork. There is so much turmoil all around us now. A new reality of the peacefulness of nature can help us transition to the inner strength inherent in each of us.”

SIMPLE MOHANTI PANI (Winner)
"My recent works reflect one of the few silver linings penetrating and mitigating the bleakness of a covid-stricken world- namely, the beauty and resplendence of Nature, which has remained intact, indeed, rejuvenated. With the slowing down of our lives' pace, we have transitioned to striking deeper bonds with the Natural World, a source of strength and solace during difficult times."

JOAN COLLINS
“I paint like a sculptor, moving, adding, and scraping paint around the canvas. This technique results in striking contours made of heavy, opaque color and texture against thin, filmy transparency. I also make many of my brushes for effect, using feathers, ropes, wire, and other desert and beach findings. I often compare my creative process to jumping off a cliff into an abyss, then floating in the adrenaline of the experience.”
