“My photographs are conceptual, sometimes graphic, constructed realities/documentaries about women's issues, especially: sexuality, mental illness, self-sabotage, our conditioning to perform femininity, and the nuances of our relationships with men as a result. I gather my material from the secrets that other women told me over the last few decades as I have worked alongside them in the sex industry and documented the rave scene from Maine to Miami. I also draw heavily on my own personal experiences, especially with a mental illness inherited from my mother, exploring my own identity in relation to hers and our estranged relationship.”
