Michail Parlamas
“Creating a painting is a way of expressing myself since I am not very good with words. Through painting I can share my thoughts with others without feeling embarrassed since the medium in itself is open to interpretation so even If I want to create a piece based on sex or sexuality I can do it without giving out to much information. That is why surrealism and symbolism has been an escape haven for me. I am naturally inclined towards comparing and contrasting and I have a strong interest in the orient cultures. I have been reading the works from great writers such as Joseph Campbell, Luc Ferry, Marie Louise Von Franz and Carl Jung since they have all tackled identity and the human condition and how it manifests through religion and mythology.”
